HG Brands Logo in memory of George Saltzman from Mark Saltzman and Laurin Saltzman.

Laurin and Mark Saltzman, owners of HG Brands, are dedicating their season sponsorship gift in memory of their father, George.

George passed away last year having lived a long and healthy life. It was a life well lived governed by an open heartedness and generosity to his family and friends.

This gift of sponsorship would have truly pleased George. He loved the arts, especially live theatre, and would have been very proud to have his name associated with a theatre company whose mandate is to illuminate humanity through a Jewish perspective.

Growing up in New York City, theatre from Vaudeville to Broadway was a mainstay in his life.

In addition, his mother Mary (nee Draisin), was involved in Yiddish theatre and radio, in Russia as well as New York. She was a part of a new found expression that gave birth to many a Jewish playwright, song writer, actor, producer and director that would be the basis of all show business today.

To have his past come full circle and be a participant in the Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company, the Saltzman family are extremely proud to have George's name among the many who believe that Jewish theatre is alive and flourishing in Toronto.
